Bio
Cammi Nevarez is a dancer and choreographer from Southern California. Originally trained in jazz, hip hop, and heels, her passion for athleticism in dance led her to expand her education in modern and ballet training. This blend of styles has shaped a distinct and dynamic movement vocabulary, giving her a unique voice in contemporary dance. Recent viewers of her work have described it as: 'sophisticated,' 'elegant,' and 'a quiet fierceness.’
Cammi earned her B.A. from Point Park University and danced with two American modern companies based in New York; Michael Mao Dance and Parsons Dance; followed by multiple international touring seasons with Rock The Ballet. She has performed works by Martha Graham Company, Koresh Dance, Terminus Modern Ballet Theater, and Ballet Counterpointe. Cammi has performed in numerous productions throughout her professional performing career. She was Juliet in Adrienne Canterna’s “Romeo and Juliet” in Germany, and she was a principal dancer in Kevin Jenkin’s theatrical ballet, “Remember Me.” Cammi also served as the lead dancer for Annie Kane’s adaptation of “The Red Shoes.” Furthermore, Cammi was the winner of the Southern California Spotlight Artistic Scholarship in the non-classical dance category in 2012. Additionally, she has done work with Nickelodeon, Hulu, ABC, and Sony Pictures.
In 2023/24, Cammi set full length concert works on Terminus Ballet School and International City School of Ballet.
In summer 2025, she is commissioned to set her first professional company work on Terminus Modern Ballet Theater.
Cammi’s film/tv credits include Concussion, starring Will Smith; Hello, Goodbye; an adaptation of The Red Shoes. Cammi conceptualized and choreographed a campaign for Discount Dance and Mariia Dancewear.
